Pork sausage patties flavored with roasted fennel seeds and sweet maple syrup. The maple syrup helps give the sausage patties a nice char when they are cooked.

This six-person sandwich practically makes itself because of the nifty skewering arrangement. Two parallel skewers allow you to flip six Italian sausages and the bell pepper strips all at once.

Keep an eye out for interesting fresh sausages at the market. Then gather family and friends to sample whatever assortment you find with grilled onions and potatoes and a light mustard cream.
